Available at Nordman, 2 miles down on Highway 57, (where you turned right to come to Elkins – Where the Post Office is too).

Laundromat also at the Tamrak in Priest Lake, 11 miles south on Highway 57.

Nordman and The Tamrak at Priest Lake also have small grocery stores.

There are lots of things to do at Elkins and Priest Lake. Swim at the beach, rent a canoe, take a walk or extended hike on any of hundreds of trails, go huckleberry picking (late July to early October), boating, water-skiing, mountain biking, fishing, mushroom hunting (summer and fall), volleyball, rock-climbing, snowmobiling, snow-shoeing, just to mention a few! Elkins Resort is also the place to stay if you just want a restful serene do-nothing vacation. It’s all here!

While there are plenty of old logging routes around the resort, we ask that those who bring their dirt bikes and 4-wheelers only ride on the roads and not on the resort property. Help us keep Elkins’ natural plant life growing healthy and strong.

For something different take a short road trip and visit the Priest Lake Library or the Priest Lake Museum.

Priest Lake is the place to catch record Lake Trout–Mackinaw. While on vacation, it’s best to go with a Guide, unless you’re an experienced deep-water fisherman.

The weather is gorgeous the whole year round but of course, we’re biased! Really, the summer temps are warm, but not too hot typically, and the winter temps are usually in the 20s which makes for great scenery and snowmobiling. The summer average daily high temperature is 85-90 degrees. Peak summer season lake water temperatures are in the low 70s. Summer evenings are comfortable with temps in the low 70s-high 60s typically. The average winter daily temperature is in the high 20s-low 30s. We get a large amount of snow each year, with the higher elevations and surrounding mountains averaging 300 inches each winter. Plenty for snowmobiling on 400 miles of groomed trails accessed from your cabin door.

No Motor homes or tent camping at Elkins Resort.

Boat trailers – An upper parking lot is available for boat trailers. Please do not park them in front of your cabin or at The Lodge parking area.

Cell phone coverage with Verizon and AT&T works fairly well.

Elkins hosts weddings and special events in the off-season, not in July and August.

On and off-site group and wedding catering available.

There are ten fire pits on the beach that are stocked with wood.
