Spring & Summer Activities

During the warm parts of the year, most of our guests take advantage of the long, sunny days on the sandy shores of Priest Lake. Elkins Resort offers a boat launch, which makes boating on the lake easily accessible. Our marina has over 60 boat slips (both covered and open), as well as a gas pump at the boat dock for your convenience. Fishing, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boating, jet skiing, swimming, snoozing in lawn chairs, beach volleyball, and picnicking are all popular activities along the Priest Lake coast. Located within the Priest Lake Selkirk Mountains, there are multiple roads for hikers, climbers and mountain bikers alike. The Resort Information Center can provide you with trail maps that can lead you down smooth paths or rigorous trails. Always keep your eye out, as you may even encounter wildlife! Play a couple of relaxing rounds of golf in the beautiful wetlands on the 18-hole, Par 72, 6,500-yard Priest Lake Golf Course. In this gorgeous mountain setting, guests regularly see deer and other wildlife roaming along the course.

Fall & Winter Activities

The hiking trails within the Priest Lake Selkirk Mountains provide a great escape from the noise of the campground and ushers you into beautiful scenery, especially in autumn! With simple and easy routes, there are trails for everyone’s experience level. The late fall and early winter season are two of the most beautiful times to walk along Priest Lake and watch the trees and woodlands turn from lush greens to bright yellows and reds. In the snowy winter months, you will find 400 miles of groomed trails in the surrounding areas that are perfect for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling. By snowmobile, guests have reached just shy of the tip-tops of the surrounding mountain, including the strikingly beautiful, Sundance Mountain, where visitors to who get to the top are rewarded with a breathtaking view of Priest Lake.
